Sea of Remnants – NetEase’s Ocean RPG brings Turn-Based Chaos in Alpha Test

NetEase Games, through Joker Studio, has revealed Sea of Remnants as its next major free-to-play RPG, slated for release in 2026 across iOS, Android, PC (Steam), and PlayStation 5. The game introduces players to a surreal world where puppet-like sailors awaken without memories, tasked with uncovering the mysteries of the titular sea at the edge of the world.

The game is currently in Alpha test up to February 12. Gameplay is built around turn-based team battles, but NetEase has layered in multiple systems to keep players engaged: two distinct combat modes, dozens of mini-games, and a sprawling open-world map filled with pirate factions and hidden treasures.

Early previews highlight the game’s “controlled chaos” design philosophy, echoing the feature-rich approach seen in other NetEase titles like Identity V and Onmyoji. The art direction emphasizes exaggerated puppet designs and vibrant seascapes, giving Sea of Remnants a unique identity compared to competitors such as Epic Seven or Summoners War.

Pre-registration is currently open globally, with NetEase running a “Wanderer Test” phase that allows selected players to explore early builds. Regional restrictions appear minimal, though access may vary depending on app store policies in certain countries. Players can sign up via the official website and download the game in Steam.
