Mutazione is an adventure-exploration game developed by Die Gute Fabrik and published by Akupara Games. Described as a “mutant soap opera”, the game blends small-town drama with supernatural elements, offering a unique narrative-driven experience. Players take on the role of Kai, a 15-year-old girl who travels to the mysterious island of Mutazione to care for her ailing grandfather, Nonno. The island, once a thriving resort, was struck by a meteor known as Moon Dragon over a century ago, causing its inhabitants to mutate and form a secluded community.
The game features hand-illustrated environments, deep character interactions, and a musical gardening system, where players cultivate plants that produce unique soundscapes. Originally released on September 19, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4, and macOS, Mutazione later launched on Nintendo Switch in May 2021 and now is available on Android and iOS.
