Borderlands Mobile – Zynga Launches Limited iOS Test

Zynga confirmed that Borderlands Mobile will be a free-to-play looter shooter optimized for smartphones, bringing the chaotic gunplay and distinctive cel-shaded art style of the franchise to mobile audiences. The test version, available via the App Store in the U.S., allows players to step into the role of Vault Hunters, battling skags, bandits, and bosses across mission types such as Campaign Missions, Tower of Terror, and Circle of Slaughter.

The game promises legendary loot drops, customizable abilities, and a wide arsenal ranging from pistols to rocket launchers, ensuring that the hallmark “shoot-and-loot” gameplay remains intact. NaturalMotion Studio is handling development, while Gearbox provides creative oversight to maintain continuity with the franchise’s lore and design. Compared to other mobile shooters like Call of Duty Mobile or PUBG Mobile, Borderlands Mobile emphasizes cooperative chaos and loot-driven progression, staying true to its RPG-shooter roots.

Currently, the test is limited to iOS users in the United States, with no confirmed timeline for Android or global rollout. Given Borderlands’ international popularity, broader availability is expected later in 2026, though regional differences in monetization and event schedules may apply. Sadly, for now we only have a support page.
