HoYoverse has announced the closed beta test for its first-ever cosmic life simulation game Petit Planet. The CBT is set to begin on November 7, 2025. Dubbed the “Coziness Test,” the beta will be available for iOS and PC users, with sign-ups currently open via the official site. Participants must complete a survey and log in with a HoYoverse account to qualify.
Petit Planet represents an interesting genre shift for HoYoverse, known for action RPGs like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. This new game is somehow a mix of cozy gameplay mechanics with interstellar exploration, allowing players to nurture their own planets, interact with AI neighbors, and engage in daily activities such as farming, fishing, cooking, and crafting. The game also introduces a unique resource called “Luca,” which players accumulate to shape and evolve their planetary environments.
The game’s aesthetic draws inspiration from titles like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, but with a sci-fi twist. Players can decorate their homes, explore alien biomes, and participate in multiplayer features like the Galactic Bazaar and co-op mini-games. Early previews suggest a strong emphasis on emotional storytelling and social bonding, with both AI and real-player interactions.
The project was first trademarked in China as “XinBuGuDi (星布谷地)” in early 2024 and later rebranded as Petit Planet for global audiences. There are no news about the release date, but being in the CBT phase, it may be really soon.
