After a long time (12 years since the original release), Cubic Games has officially announced Pixel Gun 2, the anticipated sequel to its hit arena shooter. The game is set to launch in early 2026, and should deliver a revamped gameplay experience, sharper visuals, and expanded multiplayer features while maintaining the beloved pixel-art aesthetic that defines the franchise.
Building on the success of Pixel Gun 3D (over 300 million downloads), Pixel Gun 2 will have new arenas, game modes, and faster matchmaking. The game will also feature cross-platform play, allowing players on Android, iOS, and PC to battle seamlessly, with console versions expected to follow.
What about the game economy? Well, the developers say they will opt to reward player progression rather than pay-to-win mechanics. Additionally, enhanced anti-cheat systems and improved servers aim to create a fair and stable gaming environment. It is a different game, with new mechanics, an updated progression system, so data transfer isn’t possible.
The announcement comes as Pixel Gun 3D celebrates its 12th anniversary, marking over a decade of chaotic, blocky gunfights. For more details and updates, visit the official Cubic Games website.
