The anime adaptation of Yura Urushibara’s acclaimed manga, Tougen Anki, is set to premiere in July 2025, bringing to life the intense saga of the Oni and Momotaro clans. In a recent announcement at AnimeJapan 2025, it was revealed that the franchise will further expand its universe with a mobile game adaptation slated for release later this year.
The mobile game, developed by Com2uS, will take players in the dynamic battles characteristic of the Tougen Anki series. While specific gameplay details remain under wraps (I guess it will be an action RPG), we can anticipate an experience that respect the source material, offering both action-packed sequences and strategic elements.
In the other hand, the anime adaptation is produced by Studio Hibari, known for its high-quality animation and storytelling. The series will feature an opening theme song titled “OVERNIGHT,” performed by THE ORAL CIGARETTES, setting the tone for the show’s intense and dark themes. The story follows protagonist Shiki Ichinose, who discovers his lineage as a descendant of the Oni, thrusting him into a timeless conflict against the Momotaro clan.

With the anime’s release on the horizon and the mobile game in development, Tougen Anki is getting some interesting material. Let’s see how the game does. The anime games niche is really competitive and sometimes, games don’t stand up.
