Konami has officially announced Wai Wai World Craft (tentative title), a free-to-play game creation platform for PC (Steam), iOS, and Android, unveiled during Tokyo Game Show 2025. Inspired by the 1988 Famicom classic Wai Wai World, this new project reimagines the franchise as a user-generated content (UGC) hub, empowering players to build, share, and play custom games across genres.
At its core, Wai Wai World Craft offers two creation modes: the “World Editor” for detailed customization of maps, rules, and assets, and “Magic Pod,” an AI-assisted tool that generates playable games in under three minutes based on user prompts. The platform supports multiplayer experiences for up to eight users and includes a social hub for sharing creations, echoing the structure of Roblox.

Notably, the game features playable characters and enemies from iconic Konami franchises such as Castlevania, Goemon, and TwinBee, reinforcing its crossover appeal. While the project is currently Japan-focused, fans speculate on a global rollout, especially as Roblox faces scrutiny in Western markets. Let’s see how it does, currently, only announced for Japan on the official website.
