Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X) is a turn-based RPG developed by Black Wings Game Studio in collaboration with P-Studio, and published by Perfect World Games, Iwplay World, Atlus, and Sega. It serves as a spin-off of Persona 5, taking place in a parallel universe while maintaining the signature social simulation and dungeon-crawling mechanics of the series.
The game follows a new protagonist, a second-year student at Kokatsu Academy, who awakens his Persona powers after experiencing ruinous visions. Alongside his classmates and a mysterious talking owl named Lufel, he must navigate the Metaverse, uncovering secrets that threaten the world. The game introduces new Phantom Thieves, each with their own unique Personas, including Motoha (Awilda), Shun (Mandrin), and Riko (Robroy).
Gameplay retains the classic turn-based combat of Persona 5, featuring Persona summons, Gun Attacks, and All-Out Attacks. A gacha pull system allows players to acquire new characters, while an hourglass system replaces the traditional calendar mechanic, limiting playtime based on available hourglasses. Official release date was confirmed for June 26, 2025, in Japan, North America, and Europe. A Southeast Asia release is scheduled for July 3, 2025.
