Studio Waterzooi

Studio Waterzooi is a small independent game studio based in Belgium that developed and published Please, Watch The Artwork, a suspenseful observation game. The game casts players as a night security guard at the Museum of Animated Modern Art (MaMA), where the paintings they monitor mysteriously change over time. Six themed galleries showcase animated artworks inspired by American realism painter Edward Hopper, while a melancholic clown wanders from canvas to canvas, subtly altering each scene’s mood. Players must zoom in, study intricate details, and report anomalies, with three difficulty levels including a cozy mode that removes time pressure and game-over conditions. Please, Watch The Artwork is planned for mobile, PC, and Nintendo Switch, with localization in 15 languages. The studio also maintains an itch.io presence, reflecting its roots as an independent, art-driven developer.
