Majyo no Furo Life – Shuts down after six months

Majyo no Furo Life (Witch Hot Spring (のふろーらいふ) ), a mobile puzzle game developed by NetEase, is set to terminate its services on May 30, 2025, merely six months after its launch as we published. The game’s premature conclusion has raised some questions, especially considering the involvement of well known Japanese voice actors and a high-quality anime promotional video.

From its inception, Majyo no Furo Life struggled to gain traction, reflected in its consistently low in game rankings. The puzzle genre’s niche appeal may have contributed to its underperformance too. This development coincides with broader challenges within NetEase which has been undergoing significant restructuring.

The company laid off the Seattle-based development team behind the successful “Marvel Rivals,” despite the game’s impressive performance, attracting over 40 million players and generating substantial revenue since its release. Additionally, NetEase has been reducing its international footprint, affecting studios like Worlds Untold, Jar of Sparks, and Ouka Studio.

So, we didn’t get a proper international version, here is the official announcement in their website.
