Metal Slug Tactics, the long-awaited tactical spin-off of SNK’s legendary run-and-gun franchise, is officially coming to Android and iOS in 2025, with a tentative release date of September 30, according to the App Store listing. Published by Crunchyroll Games, the mobile version will be identical to the PC and Nintendo Switch editions released in 2024, offering fans a portable way to experience strategic combat with their favorite Metal Slug heroes.
Developed by Leikir Studio in collaboration with Dotemu and SNK, the game transforms the franchise’s fast-paced action into turn-based tactical battles. Players will command iconic characters like Marco, Fio, Eri, and Tarma across isometric battlefields, using team-based combos, skill trees, and procedurally generated maps to outmaneuver enemies.
The game features Pixel-perfect visuals and animations that pay homage to the original arcade classics, a roguelike progression system for high replayability, a combo-based combat engine that rewards strategic positioning and a soundtrack composed by Tee Lopes, known for Sonic Mania and Streets of Rage 4. Pre-registration will soon be available on the Google Play Store and App Store, with more updates expected as launch day approaches.
