WonderPlanet has announced that Pandoland, its casual maritime exploration RPG, will terminate service on March 6, 2026. The game, co-developed with Pokémon creators Game Freak, first launched in Japan on June 24, 2024, before expanding globally in April 2025.
Despite its pedigree and unique premise, the title struggled to maintain momentum, leading to an early closure. Players have been informed that app downloads will be disabled after the shutdown, and no refunds or offline versions will be provided, the official announcement was made on their official X account.
Development of Pandoland was ambitious, aiming to merge maritime exploration with gacha mechanics. Players assumed the role of expedition leaders, clearing cloud-covered maps to uncover treasures, recruit companions, and challenge dungeons scattered across the oceanic world. Collaborations, such as a limited-time Hatsune Miku event, briefly boosted engagement, but updates were sparse compared to competitors. Ultimately, the lack of sustained content and global marketing limited its reach.

Pandoland was available in Japan and later globally, but its strongest presence remained in Asia. The global rollout in 2025 was relatively short-lived, and the closure confirms that regional limitations—such as tailored monetization and event schedules—were not enough to sustain worldwide interest.
