Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, has officially announced the first closed beta test for Rust Mobile, the mobile adaptation of Facepunch Studios’ cult survival sandbox. The beta will begin in early November 2025 for players in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, and Thailand, across both Android and iOS platforms.
Originally teased in early 2024 and later confirmed by Facepunch Studios, Rust Mobile aims to preserve the brutal survival mechanics of its PC counterpart. Players are dropped onto a deserted island with no gear, forced to gather resources, craft weapons, build shelters, and survive against wildlife, other players, and the environment. The mobile version retains core features like region-based biomes, permadeath, raiding, and a dynamic weather and day-night cycle, offering a full sandbox experience.
Players interested in joining the CBT can apply via the official Rust Mobile website, selecting their device and submitting contact details. Selected testers will be notified via email.
