Japanese game dev Spike Chunsoft has announced that Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island Plus (不思議のダンジョン 風来のシレン６ とぐろ島探検録) will be released for iOS and Android in Japan, marking the franchise’s latest expansion into mobile platforms. The mobile version will include all previously released free and paid downloadable content, including the “Plus Pack” expansion that debuted on Nintendo Switch and PC.
Originally launched for Nintendo Switch in January 2024 (Japan) and February 2024 (worldwide), and later ported to PC via Steam in December 2024, Serpentcoil Island is the sixth mainline entry in the long-running Shiren the Wanderer series. The game follows Shiren and his talking weasel companion Koppa as they explore the mysterious Serpentcoil Island, a place rumored to house a legendary treasure and a colossal serpent.
The game retains the franchise’s signature turn-based roguelike mechanics, where every move counts and death means starting over. The “Plus” edition enhances the experience with new dungeons, QoL improvements, and additional story content, making it the definitive version for fans and newcomers alike.
