Supercell has officially announced the cancellation of Squad Busters, its multiplayer action title that launched globally in May 2024. Shocking news, despite generating over $100 million in revenue during its first year, the game failed to meet internal expectations and will receive its final content update in December 2025, with full service termination scheduled for mid-2026.
The decision seems like a rare move for Supercell, known for its long-running hits like Clash Royale and Brawl Stars. Squad Busters was the first Supercell title to launch globally and then be sunset, highlighting the studio’s commitment to maintaining only games that meet its high standards for longevity and community engagement.

In a statement shared across social media (here the official X/Twitter), Supercell thanked players for their support, memes, and gameplay clips, noting that “you gave this game its soul.” In-game purchases were disabled on October 30, and players will be able to transfer remaining value to other Supercell games starting November 10. Free bundles and themed rewards will also be distributed across the publisher’s portfolio.
