The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War is the latest game in the Trails game saga. This new game will be available on Android, iOS, and PC starting May 29th. In case you’re not familiar, Nihon Falcom’s Legend of Heroes: Trails series is an epic anime RPG franchise set on the fantastical continent of Zemuria. Each campaign features different characters and locations, contributing to a rich, fantasy-filled lore.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War delves into the Northern War portion of this lore. Players will follow Lavi and her friends, members of the Northern Jaeger clan, as they gather intel on a looming threat.
The gameplay involves extensive combat and exploration, with turn-based battles where units line up in rows of three. Strategic formation is crucial, considering partner effects, buffs, hero types, S-crafts, and more. Besides the usual combat modes, the game introduces a new Free Exploration approach, allowing players to roam Zemuria in search of new stories and characters.
