Rust Mobile is gearing up for its second beta test on August 23, expanding access across multiple regions and proving once again that survival games thrive on chaos, even when shrunk down to your phone screen.
Tencent and the Rust Mobile team confirmed that pre-downloads will begin on August 22, with the beta opening at 6:00pm PDT / 9:00pm EDT. This round of testing is far more ambitious than the first, with support across North America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. Players will also have access to 13 localized languages, ranging from Japanese and Korean to Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese, ensuring that no matter where you are, you can die of hunger in your native tongue.
Compared to the first closed beta, this second test introduces new-player-friendly features, more accessible gameplay options, and a wider range of in-game items. The developers clearly want to soften the notoriously brutal Rust experience without stripping away its core identity—expect to still be clubbed by a naked stranger wielding a rock, but maybe with a tutorial explaining why. Over three million players have already pre-registered, a number that suggests the mobile adaptation could become one of Tencent’s biggest survival RPG launches.

The beta coincides with Gamescom, where Rust Mobile will host themed activations, including hands-on demos, cosplayer meetups, photo challenges, and prizes. Attendees can even win a life-size AK prop, because nothing says “family-friendly convention” like lugging around a replica assault rifle. Rust Mobile will also be featured at Worlds of Play: The Game Art Exhibition in Cologne, further cementing its presence as one of the most talked-about mobile titles of the season.
If you are interested to join the Beta Test, go to the official website, just keep in mind the Beta Test will be available in the Google Play Store on August 23, and there will be an APK on the official website. For iOS, there is a Beta recruitment available on the official Discord.
