Summoners War is getting a really nice collaboration with the hit anime series Demon Slayer. A countdown event has been announced, leading up to the official launch of the collab on January 9th, 2025. Fans of both the game and the anime will have some fun with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke.
The collaboration is expected to introduce four families of units, potentially adding 12–17 new 5-star monsters. Speculation is rife about the inclusion of iconic abilities from Demon Slayer, such as Tanjiro’s elemental breathing techniques, Zenitsu’s lightning-based transformation, and Nezuko’s regenerative powers. While the addition of villains or Hashiras remains uncertain, their potential inclusion would be an exciting nod to the series’ depth and diversity of characters.
Despite the excitement, recent collaborations, including those with Jujutsu Kaisen and Assassin’s Creed, introduced numerous units, many of which struggled to find relevance until months of balance updates. The rapid release of new units, coupled with limited balance patches, has drawn criticism, maybe too much “cash-grabby” events.
Still, the prospect of a Demon Slayer collaboration is undeniably nice. The anime’s cinematic battles and iconic characters lend themselves well to the Summoners War aesthetic. You can download the game here for Android and here for iOS App Store.
