Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World – New Tencent game opens pre-registration in China

Good news for RPG fans. Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World, the mobile adaptation of Square Enix’s MMORPG, has officially opened pre-registration for iOS users in China. Developed by Tencent’s Lightspeed Studios, known for their work on PUBG Mobile, this version brings the expansive world of Eorzea to mobile devices while retaining the core elements that have made this game one of the best in its kind.

The game is scheduled for release on August 29, 2025, as per the iOS App Store listing (it is not definitive). Now, we have to understand that while the initial launch is limited to China, a global release is anticipated, though no specific dates have been confirmed. Crystal World is designed to recreate the story and battle content of the original Final Fantasy XIV, starting from the A Realm Reborn storyline. The mobile version will feature nine initial job classes, including Warrior, Paladin, Bard, and Black Mage, with simplified controls optimized for touchscreens.

The game will adopt a free-to-play model without gacha elements, focusing instead on in-game purchases such as mounts and costumes. You can pre-register in the iOS App Store page, but only limited to China. For more information players can visit the official website: ffxivmobile.com.
