The developers have now confirmed that all in-game purchases have been disabled, and servers will shut down permanently on April 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM JST.
As part of its closure, DRIMAGE will distribute free physical artbooks to players who register through official channels, preserving the game’s artistic legacy.
The game’s mechanics emphasized character empathy, tactical combat, and branching storylines, drawing comparisons to titles like Blue Archive and SINoALICE. However, unlike those globally successful franchises, Oz Re:write remained exclusive to Japan, limiting its reach and revenue potential. Without international expansion or consistent large-scale updates, sustaining a player base proved difficult, leading to its early closure less than a year after launch.
