More news from KRAFTON. Korean publisher has announced a new licensing agreement with Japanese developer Pocketpair to bring Palworld, the popular monster-breeding survival game, to mobile platforms. Under this deal, KRAFTON’s subsidiary, PUBG Studios, will adapt Palworld’s core gameplay elements for mobile devices while staying true to the original game’s charm.
Palworld, originally released in early access on Steam and Xbox in January 2023, quickly became a hit, selling 15 million copies and reaching 10 million Xbox users. The game features over 100 unique creatures called “Pals,” which players can collect and use for various tasks such as combat, farming, and construction.
Now, these days Palworld has been in the news, besides its success, because of legal problems with Nintendo. I don’t know very well how this agreement leaves Pocketpair, but it is a very strong show of support to the japanese studio.
