Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town – A slice-of-life adventure comes to Android and iOS

Crunchyroll Games has officially released Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town, a new heartwarming slice-of-life adventure game now available on Android and iOS via Crunchyroll Game Vault. Inspired by Yoshito Usui’s beloved Crayon Shin-chan series, this title lets players explore rural Japan, engage in daily activities, and uncover the mysteries of Coal Town.

It is important to know that the game was originally released on Nintendo Switch in Japan in February 2024, Shiro and the Coal Town later expanded to Asia in May and PC globally in October 2024. And now we have the mobile debut. There is another Shin Chan game, Ding Dong Dang, but it hasn’t get many positive reviews.

The story follows Shinnosuke Nohara, who moves with his family to a quiet countryside village after his father, Hiroshi, receives a job transfer. As Shin-chan settles into his new life, he stumbles upon a mysterious train that leads him to Coal Town, a bustling yet nostalgic city frozen in time. Players can invent gadgets, help a local diner create new menu items, and interact with quirky residents, making every moment feel like a classic Shin-chan adventure.

Shin Chan Shiro and the Coal Town Gameplay

Gameplay revolves around exploration and interaction, with players able to collect rare insects, fish in Akita’s rivers, and grow vegetables with Shin-chan’s grandmother. The game’s hand-drawn visuals and relaxed pacing make it a perfect escape for fans of cozy life sims.

Shin Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town is available exclusively for Crunchyroll Mega and Ultimate Fan members, meaning players must subscribe to Crunchyroll Game Vault to access the game, you can check the Android Play Store and the iOS App Store to download the game.
