Suikoden STAR LEAP – Announced for iOS and Android

Konami has a new announcement. This time, we got a new mobile game: Suikoden STAR LEAP is a new entry in the cherished RPG series, set to launch on iOS and Android platforms. Developed in collaboration with japanese studio MYTHRIL, this free-to-play game will incorporate in-game microtransactions, through a specific release date remains unannounced.

Suikoden STAR LEAP will take us into the story of the Rune of Change, one of the series’ legendary 27 True Runes. The story begins in a lakeside village east of the Scarlet Moon Empire, where the protagonist, the village chief Hou’s son, returns from a successful hunt. However, the village’s ensuing celebration is abruptly disrupted by an attack, propelling the hero and companions Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur on a quest to restore peace.

The game features 108 new stars—characters players can meet and recruit. The visual design boasts beautiful pixel art graphics complemented by dynamic sounds to deliver a nice Suikoden experience. The game will have microtransactions, which seems to be a modern necessity, I hope it doesn’t overshadow the rich narratives and character development that define Suikoden.
