Netmarble has officially opened pre-registration for its upcoming mobile game, THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK, available on both iOS and Android. This idle RPG draws from the classic THE KING OF FIGHTERS (KOF) series, utilizing the retro-inspired pixel graphics. Known as KOF Dot Battle in Japan, the game is developed by Netmarble Neo and will feature 5-on-5 team battles that combine tactical gameplay with easy-to-learn mechanics, catering to both KOF veterans and newcomers alike.
Set in the KOF ‘98 universe, the game uses the beloved retro dot-art style, allowing players to experience familiar KOF characters in a fresh, nostalgic format. Fans can expect strategic 5v5 combat with a modern idle RPG twist, diverging from the traditional fighting mechanics but keeping the exhilarating action of the original series.
Well, it may not be the most attractive game in the KOF franchise, but this THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK (official website) may aim a different public, mixing some nostalgia and modern gameplay.
