Good news for RPG fans, and Final Fantasy fans. Square Enix has officially announced Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, a new mobile-exclusive entry in the long-running Dissidia series, set to launch in 2026 for iOS and Android.
As we know, the game will be free-to-play with in-app purchases and is currently accepting sign-ups for a closed beta test (via website) running from November 7 to 14 in the U.S., Canada, and Japan.
Unlike previous Dissidia titles that emphasized one-on-one or team-based arena combat, Duellum introduces a “3v3 Team Boss Battle Arena” format in a vertical space. Players will form squads of iconic Final Fantasy characters to take down massive bosses in real-time, competing against rival teams to see who can defeat the enemy first. The game also features a revamped Bravery system, allowing characters to unleash powerful limit breaks once certain thresholds are met.
Set in a modern-day Tokyo where a mysterious crystal has disrupted daily life, Duellum presents an original storyline that blends urban fantasy with classic Final Fantasy themes. Players take on the role of “Ghosts,” summoned to confront the chaos and restore balance. Character designs have been updated with contemporary aesthetics, and ability illustrations are being crafted by renowned artists from across the franchise’s history.

While no console or PC version has been announced, Square Enix has confirmed that Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy will support simple controls optimized for mobile devices. Fans can follow updates via the official site and wishlist the game ahead of its 2026 release.
