American based studio Talofa Games has officially launched Monster Walk: Step Adventure on Android and iOS, with the good intentions of transforming our day-to-day activities into a kind of RPG game. Following the studio’s success with Run Legends, this new title continues Talofa’s mission to gamify fitness.
The game has lore, in Monster Walk, players step through a ruined world slowly recovering from shadowy fog. Each step taken in real life powers in-game progress, allowing users to unlock new regions, rescue quirky monsters, and battle corrupted creatures in bullet-hell style combat.
Unlike traditional fitness apps, the game requires no GPS tracking and avoids competitive leaderboards, focusing instead on personal exploration and narrative-driven progression. I’m not sure about the leaderboard being a good idea, people some times likes to be a hard try. But even so, the game has been well received with good ratings in the App Store and Play Store.
The game features over 100 collectible items, 40 unique plushie allies, and 20 customizable costumes that affect gameplay. Players can build bases, upgrade companions, and engage in strategic battles while uncovering the mystery behind the world’s collapse. The experience is designed to be relaxing yet engaging, with a cozy aesthetic and intuitive controls.
The game is free-to-play with optional in-app purchases and is now available on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.
