Destiny: Rising release date announced – Mobile shooter expands the Destiny universe

Destiny: Rising, a new mobile RPG shooter developed by NetEase Games and officially licensed by Bungie, is set to launch globally on August 28, 2025, for iOS and Android. This free-to-play title introduces a fresh chapter in the Destiny universe, offering both first-person and third-person perspectives, controller support, and a wide range of PvE and PvP game modes.

Set in an alternate timeline after the Dark Age, Destiny: Rising explores a world where humanity, aided by the Iron Lords and mysterious Ghosts, begins to rebuild civilization. Players will take on the role of Lightbearers, battling alien threats and uncovering secrets across diverse biomes—from the sanctuary of Haven to the icy ruins of Jiangshi and the arid Red Sea Rift.

In the past close Beta Test we notice that the game features a shared world, dynamic multiplayer, and a roster of legendary and original characters, each with unique abilities and backstories. Familiar Destiny gameplay elements return, including six-player strikes, campaign missions, and exotic weapons with customizable traits. New modes and social features like clan building, party games, and shared hubs aim to enhance the mobile experience.

Destiny: Rising marks a significant expansion of the franchise into mobile territory, with Bungie overseeing development to ensure authenticity. For more details and to watch the release trailer:
