NetEase and Bungie have officially launched the Closed Beta Test (CBT) for Destiny Rising, their anticipated mobile sci-fi RPG shooter (finally). The game will be available on Android and iOS, but the beta, which began on May 29, 2025, will be Android exclusive.
Destiny Rising is a non-canon spin-off set in an alternate timeline of the Destiny universe, featuring new characters, futuristic environments, and dynamic PvE missions. The is a mixture of first-person and third-person perspectives, allowing players to dual-wield weapons, customize their loadouts, and engage in large-scale battles.
The beta includes multiple playable Lightbearers, each with unique abilities and supers, alongside PvE strike missions, public events, and a six-player raid-like mode called Gauntlet. NetEase has emphasized that the beta is a limited deletion test, meaning all progress will be wiped before the official launch. However, testers will have access to paid content, offering a glimpse into the game’s monetization system, which is expected to include cosmetic items, weapon skins, and seasonal battle passes.
