Rust Mobile – Level Infinite opens pre-registration for brutal survival experience

Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, has officially opened pre-registration for Rust Mobile, the mobile adaptation of Facepunch Studios’ cult survival hit (on their website for now). The game promises a raw, open-world experience with brutal PvP, full base-building mechanics, and a ruthless sandbox environment.

The mobile version retains core features from the PC original, including permadeath, dynamic weather systems, and region-based biomes. A public demo will be available at Gamescom 2025, held in Cologne from August 20–24, offering fans a first look at the gameplay overhaul for mobile devices.

As I see, Rust Mobile may be a potential benchmark for hardcore survival games on handheld platforms. Luckily, Tencent has decided to retain the game’s gritty mechanics, rather than simplifying them for casual audiences. Here is the official trailer:

The development timeline has been relatively swift. Rumors of the mobile port surfaced in early 2024, with Facepunch Studios confirming involvement later that year. A closed alpha and beta test followed, leading to the current pre-registration phase. Players can now sign up via the official Rust Mobile website. With no official launch date announced, Rust Mobile is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated survival titles of the year.
