Japanese studio A-STAR GAMES officially launched Ascent Protocol (アセントプロトコル), a new simulation RPG for iOS and Android, inspired by the classic JRPGs of the 1990s. After a successful open beta in July, which gathered feedback from players in Japan and Korea, several key improvements were made, including the highly requested “sweeping function” and enhanced abilities for SSR characters.
Ascent Protocol features strategic turn-based combat, dynamic special moves, and a rich storyline set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans are divided between living in underground cities and worshiping alien invaders. The game also introduces new modes like “Boss Challenge” and “Tactics Rift,” offering players fresh ways to engage in competitive and strategic gameplay.
I like its JRPG feel, stunning visuals, and cinematic action, so, it could make an important hit in the RPG space. Now, remember the game is available only on the japanese Google Play Store and the japanese iOS App Store, there are no news about a global release but it has english support. You can check their official website or their X/Twitter account.
