Battledom is a new indie strategy game currently in Alpha Testing

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has unveiled Battledom, a mobile strategy game now in alpha testing. Designed as a spiritual successor to his 2020 tower-defense hit Herodom, Battledom brings a new take on RTS-lite mechanics. The game combines unit-based strategy with deep customization and crafting, a blend of tactical combat and resource management. The game has been under since late 2022.

At its core, Battledom allows players to move units freely across the map, target enemies, and manually fire siege weapons. The game incorporates unit formations to enhance strategic gameplay, while customization takes center stage as players equip their troops with weapons and armor. These items, which influence stats like attack power, range, and defense, are not simply looted but crafted using resources such as wood, leather, and coal. The crafting system, integrated within the village setting, relies on interactions with blacksmiths, magicians, and other specialists.

As a side note, the game is being developed entirely in Swift using Apple’s SpriteKit and GameplayKit. If you like Herodom or the RTS genre, join the alpha by downloading TestFlight. There are no news about a release date, or if it is going to be on the global store or maybe the Apple Arcade, for now, lets try the game and see how it does.
