Light of Motiram is an upcoming open-world survival crafting game from Tencent Games, Polaris Quest and Aurora Studio. The game was announced for PC and consoles, but now we know it will be available on iOS and Android. Scheduled to launch as a free-to-play title in 2025, this ambitious game mix survival mechanics, base building, and mechanized animal companions in a post-apocalyptic world.
In Light of Motiram, players navigate a vast world overrun by colossal “Mechanimals” across diverse environments, from tropical rainforests to snowy mountain peaks. Humanity is rebuilding from a new primitive era, and players must craft, survive extreme weather, and battle powerful bosses to carve out their place. The game emphasizes creativity through a physics-based building system, allowing players to construct shelters and strongholds that must withstand environmental challenges.
Light of Motiram (official website) will be one of those big games we’ll see next, but there are two factors to keep in mind. First, it looks too much like PlayStation Horizon, which is not uncommon for games of Chinese origin, but could have some trouble in a global release (although it was announced on PlayStation’s official chinese channels). And then, we’ll have to see how the mobile version is approached, whether it will be a slimmed down version or otherwise.
