PBJ – The Musical, new interactive game is available now on iOS

PBJ – The Musical is a new interactive art musical game available for iOS from indie solo dev Philipp Stollenmayer (Kamibox studio). PBJ – The Musical, narrates the whimsical and “badly researched” origins of the iconic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Players accompany Peanut Boy and Strawberry Girl as they traverse animated paper landscapes. Basically we play it by dragging elements on the screen, which does not allow us to develop the musicals, although it also includes a mode where we can just sit and listen to the music.

The game includes hundreds of paper figures, sourced from vintage cookbooks, newspapers, and magazines, have been painstakingly cut out and animated by hand, ensuring an authentic stop-motion aesthetic without the use of AI. Complementing this visual artistry is a unique soundtrack composed by Lorraine Bowen and performed with live instruments, featuring performances by real children and adults alike.

It also includes multiple accessibility options, including adaptive difficulty settings and a guided mode where a magical rubber band assists players through levels. Each of the ten acts features an unlockable remix by different artists, providing fresh gameplay and visual interpretations that keep the experience engaging.
