Samsung is making its News app on Galaxy devices more fun by adding gaming, starting with the trivia game The Six. Previously exclusive to Samsung Smart TVs, The Six is now available for Galaxy users in the US and Canada. This interactive trivia game offers daily challenges where players answer six questions across topics like entertainment and history, with faster responses earning higher scores.
According to Samsung’s VP of product development, Avner Ronen, this move reflects Samsung’s commitment to diversifying gaming access and making their devices a go-to choice for players. “We’ve seen the popularity of The Six on our Smart TVs and are excited to bring this engaging experience to millions of mobile devices,” Ronen said. The initiative builds on the game’s success and marks Samsung’s broader effort to integrate gaming into its ecosystem.
Samsung also plans to expand its gaming offerings within the News app and has launched a mobile cloud gaming platform for Galaxy devices in North America. Initially in open beta, this platform allows users to play Android-native games without downloading, while supporting monetization and measurement solutions.
