The Simpsons: Tapped Out is closing servers in january 2025

EA has announced that The Simpsons: Tapped Out, the popular free-to-play mobile game launched in 2012, will be shutting down. The game will be removed from app stores on October 31, 2024, and will remain playable until January 24, 2025, after which servers will be turned off.

I remember this game a lot, I really like The Simpsons and resource management games and this was one of the best in the genre. From one time to the next there were too many things to do and well, a strong element of buying items, accessories, etc. I imagine the game declined over time, with no major updates until EA decided to terminate its services.

The Simpsons Tapped Out Closing Servers

Over its 12-year run, Tapped Out allowed players to rebuild Springfield, featuring hundreds of characters, events, and quests written by The Simpsons writers. In-app purchases have already been disabled, and waves of past content will be available for players to collect before the game goes offline.

Tapped Out’s closure marks the end of an era for The Simpsons in gaming, with no new releases since 2012. Will we have a new Simpsons game? I hope so.
