Riot Games and Tencent have officially confirmed that Valorant Mobile will launch in China on August 19, 2025, following a successful closed beta phase that began in June. Pre-registration is now live for both Android and iOS, marking the first regional rollout of the highly anticipated mobile adaptation of Riot’s flagship tactical shooter.
Developed in partnership with Lightspeed Studios, Valorant Mobile retains the core 5v5 hero shooter format, featuring iconic agents, precise gunplay, and maps like Bind and Ascent, alongside mobile-exclusive modes tailored for touchscreen controls. According to Chinese tech board NGA, early testers praised the game’s responsive mechanics and seamless integration of agent abilities, noting that the mobile version preserves the competitive pacing of its PC counterpart.
Tencent has committed over 1.5 billion CNY (approx. $209 million USD) to support development and esports infrastructure over the next three years. Korean outlet Inven reports that regional tournaments are already in planning stages, with mobile esports expected to kick off as early as Q3 2025. Why China first? Well, the country’s dominance in mobile FPS engagement and Tencent’s proven infrastructure are solid points.
While global pre-registration has yet to open, a broader release may follow in late 2025 or early 2026. Players can follow updates via the game’s official Chinese site and regional social media channels.
