NCSoft unveiled Astrae Oratio (abbreviated as Asora) as a fresh project from Dynamis One, a studio formed by former Blue Archive leads. The game was previously known under the codename Project AT, following the cancellation of Project KV. NCSoft secured global publishing rights, ensuring that the title will not be limited to domestic markets.
The setting is an alternate-history Tokyo in 1889, during the fictional Reisei Era. Here, magic converges with rapid industrialization, accelerating technology nearly a century ahead of its time. Tokyo, hosting a massive World Expo and nearing completion of a futuristic Tokyo Tower, becomes the most powerful magical dominion on Earth due to its population-driven magical energy.
Players assume the role of a Shunin (Chief Officer) in the Special District Office, tasked with managing supernatural affairs. Gameplay revolves around:
- Faction Mediation: Rival wizard groups clash across districts.
- Glacé and Artifacts: Magical mediums and specialized weapons define combat.
- Duel Trials: A legal system where disputes are resolved through structured magical battles.
- Crisis Investigation: A hidden threat looms over Tokyo’s stability.
The “Shin-denki” genre emphasizes extraordinary disruptions in daily life, blending supernatural elements with grounded societal structures. Compared to similar narrative RPGs like Blue Archive or Fate/Grand Order, Astrae Oratio distinguishes itself with its retro-futuristic historical setting and administrative roleplay mechanics. Personally, the appeal lies in its fusion of bureaucratic responsibility with magical dueling, which feels both unique and ambitious.

Unlike many Japanese or Korean RPGs that stagger releases, Astrae Oratio is confirmed for a global launch in 2026, with localization details expected in upcoming updates. This positions the game to compete directly in international markets from day one. Here is the official website and the X account for more updates.
