Japanese devs Akatsuki Games has announced that the popular youth baseball game Cinderella Nine in August, Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine (八月的棒球甜心) will end its online service on December 17, 2024, after running for over seven years.
Developed in collaboration with KADOKAWA, the game captured the hearts of fans with its emotional story of high school baseball and camaraderie. Cinderella Nine in August is a youth-focused baseball simulation game that follows a protagonist who returns to high school, meets a group of baseball-loving girls, and rediscovers his passion for the sport. The game’s success led to a 2019 TV anime adaptation, further solidifying its place in popular culture.
Despite its online closure, fans can look forward to reliving the cherished story through the offline mode. As I know, to ensure players can continue enjoying the game, an offline version update will be available, allowing users to download (Google Play Store, Apple App Store) and play after the server shutdown.
