Nintendo

Nintendo Co., Ltd. is one of the world’s most influential and longest-running entertainment companies. Founded in 1889 in Kyoto, Japan, as a maker of hanafuda playing cards, the company later transitioned into toys and then video games, creating iconic hardware such as the NES, Game Boy, and Switch alongside beloved franchises including Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Metroid, and Animal Crossing. Nintendo’s first-party strategy, innovative hardware, and family-friendly design have shaped portable and home gaming for decades, and its evergreen software remains among the best-selling in the industry.

Nintendo is the publisher of Pokémon Champions, an upcoming competitive turn-based battle game developed with The Pokémon Works for iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch in 2026. With ranked and casual online battles, Pokémon HOME integration, and a simplified training system, Pokémon Champions continues the company’s long tradition of bringing players together through accessible, polished experiences.
