How to play Pokemon TCG Pocket on PC

Amassing over 30 million downloads on Android and iOS platforms,Pokémon TCG Pocket is a huge success. Developed by DeNA and Creatures Inc., the game has delivered a mobile-friendly adaptation of the classic Pokémon trading card game. However, with its growing popularity, questions about a PC port have gained momentum, as many players would like to enjoy the game on larger screens with enhanced controls.

Despite the enthusiasm, no official plans for a PC version have been announced. This aligns with Pokémon’s long-standing tradition of steering clear of PC releases for its games. Historically, Pokémon titles have remained exclusive to Nintendo consoles or mobile platforms.

For now, PC players looking to experience Pokémon TCG Pocket are resorting to unofficial methods such as emulation software like Bluestacks. While this workaround allows Android titles to run on PCs, it is fraught with risks, including crashes and maybe some vulnerabilities. Even Bluestacks is a strong and solid Android Emulator.

The problem with emulators is that not all of them run all games. Some games are designed not to run on emulators. In the case of Pokémon TCG, it does run on Bluestacks, but, it is not problem free. Just like, most likely, with other emulators (LD Player, Nox, etc), you will have to play the cat and mouse game. Each update of the game is very likely to bring out new problems if you emulate it. If you are up for the experience, go for it.

The future of Pokémon TCG Pocket depends on its performance and the willingness of its creators to expand its reach. The game has the potential to break Pokémon’s PC barrier or secure its place on the Nintendo Switch. But it is Nintendo, and aside of PC, they don’t like their games on other platforms.
