NetEase and Naked Rain’s upcoming urban open-world RPG ANANTA continues to generate a lot of talk (specially for the “inspiration from other games”) but we have news from Famitsu and a new gameplay trailer unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2025.
Famitsu’s latest coverage confirms that ANANTA will not include gacha-based character monetization. Instead, all playable Espers can be unlocked through gameplay, with monetization focused on cosmetic customization such as outfits and vehicles. This decision has been praised across forums, where players expressed relief over the shift away from RNG-heavy systems.
The game casts players as Chenxiu, a supernatural investigator known as an Infinite Trigger, tasked with uncovering anomalies caused by a mysterious force called Chaos. Characters like Taffy, Bansy, and Lykaia each bring unique traversal styles and combat abilities, with team-based synergy playing a key role in boss battles.

A new seven-minute trailer showcases Nova City’s dynamic environments, including street surfing, rooftop parkour, and interactive mini-games. Players can switch between four Espers during combat, each with distinct powers and buffs. The game’s multilingual development—Chinese, English, and Japanese—signals a global release strategy, though an official launch date remains unconfirmed.
