Be happy RPG fans, Square Enix has announced (X/Twitter) the upcoming release of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince on Android and iOS. The game, which is part of the popular Dragon Quest franchise, will be available on September 11, 2024. Already released on Nintendo Switch in December 2023, this action RPG follows the journey of Psaro, a character known as the antagonist from Dragon Quest IV, who is now on a quest to become the “Master of Monsterkind.”
This is the seventh installment of the Dragon Quest Monsters series, players will lead Psaro as he battles, scouts, and synthesizes an army of monsters to lift a curse placed on him by his father. The game features a dynamic world with changing seasons and weather, affecting monster appearances and uncovering new paths. With over 500 unique monsters to encounter, recruit, and combine, players can create powerful allies and explore the mysterious world of Nadiria.
One thing I’m kind of worried is about the mixed results with Dragon Quest mobile games, but let’s hope Square Enix is aiming for success with The Dark Prince. Store pages for mobile versions are not yet active, but updates will be provided as the release date approaches.
