Final Fantasy XIV Mobile – Technical Test on Android announced in China

Square Enix and Tencent Games have officially announced the technical test for Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World, or just Final Fantasy XIV Mobile, an MMORPG adaptation of the beloved Final Fantasy XIV, designed for Android and iOS. The game is being developed by Lightspeed Studios and the Beta test is going live in China on May 23, 2025, with recruitment open until May 22, 2025.

Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World brings the expansive world of Eorzea to mobile, it comes with multiple playable races, 11 classes, and 9 combat jobs. The game retains the Armoury system, allowing players to switch jobs freely. Beyond combat, Crystal World includes classic mini-games such as Chocobo Racing and Triple Triad, along with seasonal events and avatar customization. Players can also build homes, participate in social activities, and explore dynamic weather patterns with over 600 variations.

The technical test is a limited deletion test, meaning all progress will be wiped afterward. It will include paid content, giving testers a glimpse into the monetization system, which is expected to feature cosmetic items, mounts, and level boosts.
