Google Play Indie Games Fund returns – $2 Million to support Latin American developers

Google Play has officially launched the fourth edition of its Indie Games Fund in Latin America, pledging $2 million USD to support 10 independent game studios across the region. The initiative, first introduced in 2021, aims to empower small developers with both financial backing and direct mentorship from Google’s mobile gaming experts.

The program has already invested $8 million USD in Latin American studios over the past three years. This year’s selected developers will each receive between $150,000 and $200,000 USD, along with access to technical support, marketing guidance, and global visibility through Google Play’s promotional channels.

To qualify, applicants must be independent developers based in Latin America who have already released at least one game—whether on mobile, PC, or console. The application deadline is July 31, 2025, at 12:00 PM, but submissions sent before July 15 will receive priority review.

The program has been praised for helping studios scale their teams, refine their games, and reach international audiences. For eligibility criteria and application details, developers can visit the official Indie Games Fund site or check Google Play’s regional developer portal.
