Crunchyroll Games has confirmed that One Punch Man: World, the free-to-play action RPG based on the popular manga and anime, will terminate service on February 27, 2026. The announcement, shared via the game’s official X account, expressed gratitude to fans while noting that in-app purchases were disabled as of January 12, 2026, giving players only limited time to enjoy the remaining content before servers close. Social media accounts tied to the game will also be deactivated after the shutdown.
Launched in February 2024, One Punch Man: World sought to bring the anime’s over-the-top battles and humor into a cross-platform ARPG experience on PC and mobile. Players could step into the shoes of iconic heroes like Saitama, Genos, and Tatsumaki, battling enemies in real-time combat while exploring storylines faithful to the source material. Developed by Perfect World Games and published globally by Crunchyroll, the title was positioned as a major anime game release, comparable to Naruto: Slugfest or Dragon Ball Legends.

The closure highlights the volatility of anime-based gacha ARPGs. Personally, the appeal of One Punch Man: World lay in its faithful adaptation of the anime’s humor and combat, but the absence of consistent updates and events made it difficult to sustain engagement.
One Punch Man: World was available globally, with Crunchyroll handling distribution outside Asia. While the shutdown affects all territories equally, Asian players had earlier access to certain events and collaborations. After February 27, servers will be permanently closed, and no offline version will be provided.
