We don’t have enough puzzles, or good ones, so, Ouros from developer Michael Kamm is a really interesting take into the genre. This is a serene and meditative puzzle game now available for pre-orders. The game is scheduled for release on iOS and Android on August 14th.
In Ouros, players will discover a variety of mechanics as they progress through the game’s 11 chapters and than 120 handcrafted puzzles, each offering unique challenges. From aiming for multiple targets to navigating portals, the game emphasizes finding a flow and crafting intricate shapes against beautiful gradient backdrops.
The game’s control scheme is based on a mathematical function called a spline, which enables the graceful movements of orbs and the creation of complex, aesthetically pleasing shapes. This, combined with ethereal ambient soundscapes, enhances the dreamlike quality of the gameplay.
Players can pre-register for Ouros on Google Play and the App Store. But remember the game is a premium title, priced at $2.99 or the local equivalent.
