Supercell is once again making waves in the mobile gaming world with the announcement of Project RISE (or R.I.S.E.), an action RPG roguelite. This new title marks the end of the road for Clash Heroes, but brings its spirit back to life in an exciting new format.
There was some feeling when Clash Mini announced its shutdown, and the Clash website began redirecting to the Closure Notice for Clash Mini. My hunch was confirmed when Supercell announced that Clash Heroes was being rebranded and transformed into Project RISE.
The biggest shift from Clash Heroes to Project RISE is the focus on multiplayer gameplay. While Clash Heroes was designed for single-player adventures, Project RISE will emphasize cooperative play, allowing players to team up and tackle challenges together. Set in the familiar Clash universe, Project RISE retains the beloved art style and incorporates assets from its predecessor, ensuring a sense of continuity and nostalgia for fans.
Although still in early development, Supercell is inviting players to participate in a pre-alpha version to gather feedback and insights. The first playtest is scheduled for early July 2024, and those interested can sign up via the official website by filling out a survey. Keep in mind, participation is not guaranteed, as selection is limited.
