Tencent Games has announced that Roco Kingdom will begin its first beta test on August 19, 2024, in China, with registrations now open. Developed by Tencent’s Morefun Studios, Roco Kingdom is an open-world RPG that combines the creature-taming mechanics popularized by classic Pokémon games with the expansive exploration style of Genshin Impact.
The game is set in the magical universe of Roco Kingdom (great name), where players can explore diverse biomes, tame charming creatures known as Rocos, and engage in thrilling battles as they journey through the game’s richly detailed world.
Roco Kingdom is rooted in a universe that has captivated fans for 14 years, since its original browser game release in China. Over the years, it has expanded into a multi-media phenomenon, including books, films, webtoons, and TV series, all centered around the mystical Roco people and their pets. Earlier this year, an offline test was conducted in China, and the upcoming beta marks the next step in the game’s development. Players in China can register for the beta test on the official website using their WeChat or QQ accounts.
