Pokémon UNITE to End Service on March 23, 2027
The Pokémon Company has confirmed that Pokémon UNITE will shut down on March 23, 2027, with gem sales already suspended and a farewell event planned before the servers close.
Pokémon UNITE is coming to an end. The Pokémon Company confirmed that service for the 5-on-5 team battle game will terminate on Tuesday, March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC, closing down both the Nintendo Switch version and the mobile release on iOS and Android at the same time.
The shutdown marks the end of a title that arrived on Switch on July 21, 2021 and later expanded to smartphones, becoming one of the first Pokémon games built specifically around live-service multiplayer. Developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by The Pokémon Company, UNITE pitted two teams of five against each other in short matches where players scored points in goal zones, levelled up their Pokémon during battle and used Unite moves to swing the outcome. The roster grew steadily over the years, mixing starter Pokémon, legendary creatures and seasonal Holowear.
Monetisation has already been wound down. Aeos gem sales were suspended on October 27, 2026 at 05:00 UTC, and the same date ended new UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals, although existing members keep their benefits until the end of the paid period.
A final content update is scheduled for November 12, 2026 at 04:00 UTC. It introduces a Unite Coin Exchange where leftover currency can be traded for previously released items, including Unite licenses, Holowear, Trainer fashion and Unite snapshots, alongside Unite Coin missions and a log-in bonus. The same update adds a library feature that lets players browse their collection, visit the Practice Area and review achievements after the servers go offline. Players must complete the required data download before March 23, 2027 to keep access, and library data generally cannot be moved between devices.
Competitive play continues until the end: the Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament goes ahead as announced, with qualifiers starting December 5, 2026. After service ends, players will no longer be able to log in or take part in battles, and the online content guidelines for videos and images of the game will no longer be maintained. Full details are available on the official end-of-service notice.
