The announcement, shared by the development team, confirms that Ash Echoes Global will shut down worldwide following the release of its final Chapter 9 Main Story update. On May 7, 2026, in-game purchases and downloads were disabled, signaling the beginning of the farewell period. Servers will remain active until June 17, 2026, at 23:00 (UTC), after which players will no longer be able to log in.
The game, launched in 2024, got some players for its anime-inspired visuals, strategic combat, and narrative depth, set in the world of Senlo where players, known as “Directors,” guided characters through branching storylines and tactical battles. Despite its strong art direction and emotional storytelling, Ash Echoes struggled to maintain long-term engagement in a competitive gacha market dominated by titles like Honkai: Star Rail and Blue Archive. Community feedback often pointed to content pacing and monetization challenges, which ultimately contributed to the decision to end service.
To ease the transition, NEOCRAFT is offering an account transfer program to its other titles, Tree of Savior: NEO and Tales of Wind: Radiant Rebirth. Players can reclaim their purchases at a conversion rate of 60 Rainbow Gems or 40 Spiral per USD $1 spent, ensuring that investments in Ash Echoes carry over. Additionally, from May 7 until the shutdown, all players receive daily farewell rewards—Resonance Clue ×10 and Momentary Backflash ×10—as a gesture of gratitude.
The closure reflects the volatility of the mobile RPG market, where even visually striking titles can falter without consistent updates and balanced monetization. Personally, the appeal of Ash Echoes was always its fusion of heartfelt storytelling with tactical gameplay, but sustaining a global audience requires more than narrative ambition.
